Mission
-
Anderson County PAWS accepts unwanted, stray, and abandoned animals from all citizens of Anderson County. They work diligently to provide proper care and humane treatments to all animals housed at the facility. All of the animals that come to the shelter undergo a medical examination where they are treated depending on their health and vaccination status. A typical day at Anderson County PAWS consists of spay and neuter surgeries, providing booster shots, providing feline Leukemia tests for cats and kittens, testing for heartworms in adult dogs, and providing rabies vaccinations for animals at least four months old.
-
The main goal of Anderson County PAWS is to find a loving home for the animals. They have foster and adoption programs where anyone can come and get a pet. To prevent animal cruelty, Anderson County PAWS works closely with Anderson County Animal Control and local law enforcement agencies in the enforcement of all State and County Animal Control Ordinances.
